Day 1 Done. Bring on Day 2

Day one of my master cleanse has come and is now in my rear view mirror.  In fact, I’m shifting the rear view mirror away.  The past is behind me and I’m looking straight ahead.

Today, I commenced day two of my master cleanse.  I filled a gallon jug with the water, lemon juice, grade B maple syrup and cayenne concoction last night and brought it in to work with me.  It’s 220pm now and I’m about half way done with the gallon jug.

Yesterday was pretty simple as I didn’t really have cravings.  But today is another matter.  I smell what people are eating in my office.  The smell of toast brings forth a pang of hunger.  Salad,  rarely heard of in my diet, looks wildly appetizing.  The colors are hypnotic.

The smell of the sidewalk vendors food is worse.  Much worse.  I passed by a Rafiqi’s earlier.  Rafiqi’s is a chain of sidewalk carts that specializes in lamb and chicken over rice prepared in the Halal middle-eastern style.  Rafiqi’s is delicious under any circumstances but today it tempted me like a mermaid to a castaway sailor.

“Eat me” the lamb called out.

“Eat me now. Drape extra white sauce and hot sauce all over me and eat me!”

I made a beeline back to the safety of my office instead of going to the bank.  The deposit would have to wait.  Safety is at work where I can distract myself with thoughts of anything but food.

So here I am.  Cleansing.  I feel great.  I plan on hitting the gym later and just taking it one hour at a time.

PS. It’s herring week at Aquavit.  Here’s what I’m missing:
