long live the Cambodian dynasty
Well I finally got over to Num Pang tonight. Just a 15 minute outdoor wait and Cambodia’s finest street sandwiches were MINE. ALL MINE. Soon to be in me belly.

The place itself is no more than a shoe box in size. Just three employees (2 if one is the boss) man the operation. You pull up to the counter, order your sandwich(es) and either eat it upstairs or take it to go. I took mine to go.

I was ordering for four people (me, 2 friends, and i) so I got 4 sandwiches, 2 sides of corn and 2 blood orange lemonades.
The bread that the sandwiches come on is a crispy, soft, mini-hero bun. It’s sliced in half, smeared with a garlicy (I think) butter and toasted. OMG. GOODNESS overcomes!

The steak sandwich. This one actually was my least favorite. I found the steak a little too chewy but even still, on a scale of 1 to 10, it was still an 8.

The corn was VERY, VERY good but Cafe Habana is still champ when it comes to this kind of corn.

Veal meatball sandwich with a smattering of sweet hoison sauce. Can you sing “Don’t stop believing….” but substitute the word “eating” for “believing”. I didn’t want this sandwich to stop. Unfortunately, I had to give half away as we were going halfsies amongst the 3 (4 if you count me twice) of us.

The pulled pork sandwich was also my favorite. In fact, I would say it was a three way tie between the pork, veal meatball and the below catfish sandwich. I’m so fat right now I can’t see my toes if I stand but THIS MEAL was worth it.

The fried catfish sandwich. Read above notes. THIS SANDWICH IS OTHERWORLDLY.
Anyway, I’m writing this post in haste as I should be packing for a 7 AM flight right now. I’m a very happy and fat camper right now. I can’t wait to come back from my trip so I can indulge in these sandwiches again.
